How will Made To Lactate drinks "fix" my struggle with milk supply ?

Made To Lactate suggests commencing with two drinks a day to boost supply, and thereafter maintain your supply by enjoying only one drink daily. You may feel satisfied with your milk supply after the first helping, or it may take a few days before you notice a boost in milk supply.

If you find you don’t see an increase in your milk supply, please reach out to us becasue there are many different factors to consider. For examply, baby might have a shallow latch, be tongue tied or lip tied, which means the baby isn’t withdrawing enough milk from your breasts.

Each body is different and responds differently to various foods. Please remember to drink lots of water especially while you are feeding the baby, as it will enhance your let down and keep you hydrated. We strongly belive that there is NO replacement for best breastfeeding practices, a well balanced diet and a healthy lifesttyle.

Why our lactation drinks DON'T include Fenugreek ?

You may have seen that some breastfeeding products list Fenugreek in their list of ingredients. While it has been used as a herb for many years, it may be an ingredient to avoid when you are breastfeeding. If you have a thyroid problem, particularly hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid), Fenugreek can influence the active thyroid hormone that your body releases. This can make your hypothyroidism worse and therefore reduce your milk production.

Some women have reported side effects from Fenugreek, such as diarrhoea, gas, heartburn and smelly urine. If a mother’s digestive system is in distress, then this can cause similar symptoms in the baby.

Fenugreek is a legume and those who have peanut allergies may experience a cross-reaction and a possible allergic reaction to the product.

When should I start consuming the drinks ?

Our drinks are safe to consume at any time during your pregnancy. We recommend that you start around 35/36 weeks. Drinking them daily is recommended. This is particularly the case if you are planning to express colostrum before your baby arrives.

How many should I drink ?

The majority of moms find that 1 to 2 cups of lactation hot chocolates or lattes a day is all they need to give them that extra boost.

Our breastfeeding journeys are all different and so are our bodies, we react differently to ingredients. You might even find that one cup is enough for you. However, if you feel like having more than 2 cups of lactation hot chocolates and lattes then there is no harm in that. They are so delicious, but please keep in mind that lactation hot chocolates and lattes are made to compliment a healthy diet.

If you feel like there may be a greater milk supply problem. PLEASE contact a lactation consultant or your trusted family doctor.

How long can I store Made To Lactate Hot Chocolates and lattés ?

Our Deluxe lactation hot chocolates or lattes have a 9-18 months shelf life so they are perfect to pop in the pantry for back up!

What is the difference between Lactation Biscuits and Lactation Drinks?

Lactation biscuits and lactation drinks both use the same galactagogues ingredients. However the biscuits get baked which destroys some of those wonderful galactagogue ingredients! When you make our drinks, you mix the powder with warm milk or water, or with cold milk, none of which cook the powder and destroy the galactagogue ingredients.

Personally, even though I enjoy lactation biscuits, I did not find any increase in my milk supply after eating them.

Can my spouse or older child also drink Made To Lactate’s lactation drinks?

All the ingredients in our lactation drinks are perfectly safe for anyone to consume. If you are not breastfeeding, our drinks will not suddenly make you produce milk. You need oxytocin and prolactin hormones to breastfeed. You can happily make a mug for hubby or your baby’s sibling. But why would you want to share this delicious range of drinks with them!

I ordered something and then changed my mind. What can I do?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund if you changed your mind after a purchase has been made.

But a breastfeeding friend or family member might appreciate some breastfeeding goodies. Made to Lactate’s products make ideal gifts for breastfeeding moms.

How long can I store Made To Lactate’s lactation drinks?

Our lactation drinks have a shelf life up to 12 months. They should be kept in a cool and dry environment. The packets we use are heat-sealed and are easy to reseal for your convenience.
